Waits happily in line at Nom Wah restaurant

Hi, I’m Edward Pond — a Toronto-based Director of Photography and filmmaker with over two decades of experience in visual storytelling. I’ve shot high-end commercial campaigns, crafted award-winning food cinematography, and built a parallel career as a commercial photographer.

Alongside my commercial work, I’m currently directing Nothing to Fear, a feature documentary examining fear as a fundamental human instinct — how it shapes our choices, unsettles us, and sometimes keeps us alive. The film draws on conversations with experts and everyday people alike, exploring fear at every scale, from personal anxieties to real danger and larger existential threats.

These days, my work lives at the intersection of craft and curiosity. Whether I’m collaborating with directors on cinematic commercial projects or working in a fast-moving documentary environment, I bring a mix of technical precision, creative instinct, and a journalist’s impulse to ask better questions and stay present for moments that matter.
